Questions
Is this real trading?
No. Ghost Run is a simulator using historical data. No real money is staked and nothing can be bought. It is not a broker and it is not gambling.
Do you show live prices?
No, and we never will. Prices appear at a decision point inside a replay, where they are part of a decision rather than something to browse.
Do I need an account?
No. The first replays work with no signup at all. An account only matters if you want your history on more than one device.
Can I lose real money?
No. The money is pretend. That is the point — the mistakes are free exactly once.
Are the prices accurate?
Every decision you are asked to make is priced at the real closing price on that real date — GameStop at $347.51 on 27 January 2021, oil at minus $37.63 on 20 April 2020. Your result, and the buy-and-hold and panic-seller figures you are graded against, all come from those real prices. The line between decisions is smoothed so the chart draws continuously, so a day you were not trading on may differ slightly from the record.
Can I bet against a company?
In one replay, yes — and it is there to show you why that is dangerous. Elsewhere the app is long-only, and the glossary explains shorting, leverage and options along with why they are not simulated.
Is this financial advice?
No. Nothing in Ghost Run is advice or a recommendation. If you want advice, speak to someone authorised by the FCA.
What does it cost?
Two replays are free and always will be — no account needed for those. Unlocking the rest is a single payment of £9.99 in the UK, priced by Apple and Google in other currencies. That is the whole cost.
Is it a subscription?
No. It is a one-time purchase, so nothing renews, nothing is charged again and there is no trial to cancel. If you change phone, Restore purchases in Settings brings the unlock back.
